University Pathway Program (UPP)

THE UNIVERSITY PATHWAY PROGRAM (UPP) AT TWS

A University Pathway Program (UPP), also known as a pre-university program, is tailored to support international students who may not meet the full requirements for direct entry into Canadian universities. By enrolling in this program at TWS, students are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to ensure a smooth transition into Canadian universities. By providing comprehensive academic preparation, language support, and cultural orientation, UPP’s help international students succeed in their higher education pursuits in Canada.

Who is it for?

The unique UPP program at TWS is crafted for students who have finished at least Grade 11 or high school in their native country or have successfully completed international programs like the International Baccalaureate Certificate Program (IB) or O-levels. Tailored for those seeking to elevate their grades and improve their prospects for admission to esteemed universities or competitive programs at community colleges, the UPP program offer specialized support and guidance.

What are the entry requirements for the UPP?

Our University Pathway Program encompasses 8 to 10 credits, completed within a concentrated timeframe of one year. Enrollment in the University Pathway Program is open to students who have successfully completed at least 11 years of formal education, regardless of the curriculum they followed. As part of the admission process, students will undergo a comprehensive Prior Learning Assessment & Recognition (PLAR) assessment, which includes an evaluation of their English language proficiency. This assessment helps us identify if enrollment in an ESL (English as a Second Language) program is recommended to support their language development, if necessary.
