Dr Kanwaljit (Amy) Kaur, MSc, Ed.D

Dr Kanwaljit (Amy) Kaur is an experienced Ontario secondary school principal and counselling psychologist with nearly two decades in education. She has led Ontario secondary schools since 2011, bringing together academic leadership and a deep commitment to student well-being.

​

As Secondary School Principal at Wales College and Brooklyn College in North York, Dr Kaur oversaw daily school operations, led teams of teachers and guidance staff, and ensured academic programs met Ontario Ministry of Education requirements. From 2020 to 2022, she served as Director of Education and Secondary School Principal at CITEM College in Brampton, leading both the secondary school and its global tutoring division.

Her higher education experience includes serving as Associate Professor of Psychology and Teacher/Child Care Education in Hong Kong. She is currently a Director at the Canadian Institute for Nurse Advancement Inc. (CINAC).

Dr Kaur holds a Doctor of Education in Counselling Psychology, a Master of Science in Education (Intermediate/Senior), and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Toronto. She also practises as a Counselling Psychologist, leading a team of seven Registered Psychotherapists at Meridian Psychology.

This clinical background shapes her student-centred approach to school leadership, which places student well-being and belonging alongside academic excellence. Fluent in English and Punjabi and a mother of two sons, Dr Kaur is committed to the success of every TWS student, whether on campus, online, or through our Global Partner Schools.
